Carmo Jesus Jose Rodrigues, the Art Teacher at Bethany Convent High School, Sao Jose de Areal, was conferred the Goa State Best Art Teacher Award 2024-25 by the All Goa Art Masters’ Association. The award was presented at a ceremony held at the Institute Menezes Braganza in Panjim.
Rodrigues was recognised for his long-standing commitment to art education and his consistent efforts to nurture creativity among students. At Bethany Convent, he has been instrumental in encouraging young learners to explore visual expression, often going beyond the classroom to involve students in exhibitions and collaborative projects.
Colleagues credit him for cultivating an environment where art is not just a subject, but a medium for dialogue, thought, and cultural engagement. His work has also extended into the wider community, through workshops and mentoring fellow educators.
The Association noted that the honour was not only for his achievements but also a reminder of the value of sustained commitment in creative teaching.
