Goa’s Asha Babu Naik Makes History with Bronze at Beach Games

Goa’s Asha Babu Naik etched her name in history, clinching a Bronze medal in the 65kg category of Pencak Silat at the inaugural Khelo India Beach National Games 2025.

Competing at Ghoghla Beach in Diu, Naik’s podium finish marks a significant milestone — Goa’s first medal at the beach edition of the national games.

The Goa Pencak Silat team, participating in just two categories, was represented by a lean squad of three athletes. The contingent was guided by Head Coach and General Secretary of the Pencak Silat Association of Goa, Mr. Anthony Cedly Braganza.

The Association lauded Braganza’s leadership and commitment, citing his pivotal role in the team’s preparation and execution.

Naik’s performance stands as an inspiration for young martial artists across the state and a proud achievement for Goa’s sporting community.
