The Chief of the Army Staff (COAS), General Upendra Dwivedi, extended heartfelt New Year greetings to the people of India, expressing wishes for happiness, good health, and prosperity in 2025. His message, delivered on behalf of the Indian Army, emphasized collective service and national pride.
In a statement shared via the Additional Directorate General of Public Information (ADGPI) on the social media platform X, General Dwivedi encouraged citizens to renew their commitment to the nation. “On behalf of the Indian Army, I extend my heartfelt greetings of New Year 2025 to all countrymen. May this year bring happiness, good health, and prosperity to you and your family,” the statement read.
The COAS highlighted the importance of unity and dedication, stating, “On this auspicious occasion of New Year, let us pledge to always dedicate ourselves to the service of the nation. Our collective contribution ensures the security, development, and pride of the country. Let us all pledge to take our duties towards the nation to new heights in the year 2025. Jai Hind!”
The Indian Army also reflected on the sacrifices of its personnel, particularly those serving along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir. The statement praised the resilience and determination of soldiers who endure harsh conditions to protect the nation’s borders.
“As we welcome the New Year, it’s important to take a moment to reflect on the incredible sacrifices made by our soldiers, especially those guarding the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir,” the Army noted.
Acknowledging the challenges faced by troops in extreme climates, from Rajasthan’s scorching heat to the freezing cold of Ladakh, the Indian Army reaffirmed its steadfast commitment to its duties. “The rugged, treacherous terrain, often covered in snow or turning into a swamp during the monsoon, presents constant challenges, yet our soldiers persevere with unwavering commitment,” the statement added.
