The Higher Secondary Teachers Association of Goa (HISTAG) is gearing up to host KalaGurujan–2025, the state’s grandest festival celebrating the educational and cultural achievements of Goa’s teaching community. Scheduled for April 29, 2025, at Ravindra Bhavan, Margao, the festivities will kick off with an inaugural ceremony at 9:30 AM.
The Honourable Chief Minister of Goa, Dr. Pramod Sawant, will grace the event as the Chief Guest. Distinguished invitees include Shri Prasad Lolayekar, IAS (Education Secretary), Shri Shailesh Zingade (Director of Education), Smt. Meghana Shetgaonkar (Director, SCERT), and Shri Bhagirat Shetye (Chairman, Goa Board of Secondary & Higher Secondary Education).
One of the key highlights will be a live podcast recording featuring a panel discussion with Shri Prasad Lolayekar on the New Education Policy (NEP) rollout in Goa, focusing on upcoming changes for the Higher Secondary stage from April 2026. The podcast will be made available on all major streaming platforms post-event.
KalaGurujan–2025 has drawn an enthusiastic response, with more than 800 teachers from 40 Higher Secondary Schools already confirmed to participate. The festival will showcase talents across 10 cultural competition categories inspired by Indian folk arts and traditions, promoting creative expression and camaraderie among educators.
Awards will be distributed based on overall points accumulated by participating schools. A Rolling Trophy will be awarded to the Winning School and the Runners-Up, along with individual prizes for the top three performers in each competition.
