Konkan Fruit Fest 2025: Celebrating Goa’s Fruits, Honey & Green Traditions

The Botanical Society of Goa (BSG) proudly presents the 19th edition of the Konkan Fruit Fest, in association with Our Lady of Rosary Church Navelim, on 2nd, 3rd, and 4th May 2025 at the Rosary High School Ground, Navelim, Salcete, Goa. The event is organized with support from the Directorate of Agriculture, Goa College of Agriculture, Forest Department, and other collaborators.

Spanning three days from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., the Konkan Fruit Fest is a celebration of Goa’s diverse and vibrant fruit culture. Visitors can explore fresh fruit displays, nursery plants, processed fruit products, manures, and a wide range of agricultural essentials available for sale.

Vendors, nurseries, and home entrepreneurs are invited to book stalls or table spaces by contacting Estella Pires (8308847818) or Liza Pinheiro (8390113019).


Competition Rules:

Fresh Fruits Competition (2nd May)

  • Open to all age groups
  • Bring local fruits (e.g., mangoes, berries, jackfruit bulbs)
  • Fruits must be ripe; berries/jackfruit carpels in zip-lock bags
  • Submission: 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

Best Honey Competition (2nd May)

  • Open to all
  • Submit homemade honey (200 ml or 250 g)
  • Submission: 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

Fancy Dress Competition (2nd May, 6:00 p.m.)

  • Theme: Goan Fruits/Flowers
  • Dress as fruits/millets; stage presentation (~1 minute)
  • Provide music (if any) on a pen drive

Processed Fruit Products Competition (3rd May)

  • Open to all
  • Submit homemade products (200 ml or 250 g)
  • Submission: 10:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.

Fruit Eating Competition (4th May, 11:00 a.m.)

  • Fruits: Watermelon and Banana
  • Participants must bring fruits
  • Eat as much as possible in 2 minutes (no knives allowed)

Drawing Competition (4th May, 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.)

  • Age: 8–14 years
  • Theme: Fruits of Goa
  • Drawing paper provided; bring own stationery

Guess the Fruit Weight (4th May)

  • On-spot guessing activity by holding the fruit in hand

All competitions are free to enter. Judges’ decisions will be final.
