As part of their 10th anniversary celebrations, the Reliance Foundation Young Champs (RFYC) conducted a football clinic for young aspirants in Margao, reaffirming their commitment to grassroots development in Indian football.
Held on Monday, the session brought together enthusiastic young players from across Goa for a special training program led by RFYC’s Head of Scouting, Stephen Charles. Felixson Fernandes, an RFYC graduate and current Bengaluru FC player, was also present, mentoring the kids and sharing insights from his professional journey.
“This clinic doubles as a celebration and a scouting opportunity,” said Charles. “Goa has always been a rich talent base. We scout here across age groups for nearly eight months each year. Our aim is to unearth the next Nathan Rodrigues, Narendra Naik, or Felixson from this region.”
The clinic involved a mix of technical drills—passing sequences, attack-defence setups, 1v1 and 2v2 matchups—and concluded with a short game. Beyond the on-field action, the young players engaged with Fernandes, who offered valuable tips and shared his path from RFYC to top-flight Indian football.
The event underlined RFYC’s growing presence in Goa and its continued focus on nurturing football talent across the country.
