Dunes SC Mandrem secured a 3-0 victory over Varca SC, advancing to the quarterfinals of the Marcus Mascarenhas Memorial Football Tournament. The tournament, organized by Sarzora SC, was played at Church Ground, Chinchinim.
Dunes SC showcased their attacking prowess early on, dominating possession and constantly pressuring Varca SC’s defense. Seetu Brito opened the scoring with a clinical finish, setting the tone for the match. As Varca SC struggled to find their rhythm, Brito capitalized again, securing his second goal of the game and further extending Dunes SC’s lead.
In the second half, Sanmesh Rahul joined the score sheet, slotting home the third goal for Dunes SC, sealing their convincing win and a spot in the tournament’s quarterfinal stage. Varca SC had limited opportunities to break through a resolute Dunes defense and couldn’t find a way back into the game.
For his exceptional contribution, Myson Britto was awarded the Man of the Match, a well-deserved recognition for his role in orchestrating Dunes SC’s attack.
