The Rouse Avenue court concluded the recording of a female wrestler’s testimony after an intense cross-examination that lasted approximately eight hours. This cross-examination was conducted by the defense counsel representing former Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) chief, Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, who faces serious allegations related to sexual misconduct.

The victim was brought to the court under heavy security measures, with her statement being recorded in a vulnerable witness room—a setting designed to ensure the emotional safety of witnesses during sensitive legal proceedings. Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate (ACJM) Priyanka Rajpoot presided over the court proceedings and recorded the wrestler’s detailed cross-examination.

The session began at around 12:45 PM, paused briefly for lunch, and resumed at 2:15 PM. The questioning continued well into the evening, concluding by around 9:00 PM. Advocate Rajiv Mohan, defense counsel for Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, led the cross-examination, which was conducted in the vulnerable witness room to ensure the victim’s safety and privacy.

During the hearing, the former WFI chief, Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, was also present in the courtroom. In addition to his legal counsel, the hearing was attended by Additional Public Prosecutor (APP) Atul Srivastava and the investigating officer involved in the case.

The court has scheduled its next session for October 14, where it will record the statement of another witness, identified as Narender.
