Goa has always been known as the land of the learned and the aware, with a predilection for prose in all it’s forms. And therefore, it is of little surprise that this week saw the launch of a ‘chronicle’ of short stories by four first-time Goan authors.
‘The Bob’s Banter Chronicles’, an anthology of short stories, edited and crafted by Robert Clements and debuting four of Goa’s passionate writers was unveiled at the Broadway Bookstore in Panjim in the presence of family, friends of the authors and some avid bookworms.
The four authors, noted columnist Blaise Costabir, Businessman Keith Alvares, Anita Noronha and Elvina Sequeira were part of Clements’s online writing workshop which was held during the Covid-19 lockdown. They may have been locked down, but their minds were definitely running amuck to ensure that the stories must be told.
The authors read excerpts from their stories after a brief exposure to the project by the curator of the anthology, Mr. Clements who said “there is a story in everyday and anybody can be a writer.”
The stories by the Goans are:
‘Lost and Found‘ by Anita Noronha,
‘Unseen‘ by Blaise Costabir,
‘Murder in Genesis‘ by Elvina Sequeira and
‘Wait for me – man’s eternal quest’ by Keith Alvares.
