Gaurav Reddy and Nitish Reddy produced a dominant batting display before the bowlers completed a comprehensive performance as Anurag Nalgonda Knights defeated Warangal Warriors by 91 runs in the Hyderabad Cricket Association’s Sreenidhi University TG20 on Friday.

The Knights piled up 259 for five, equalling the highest team total of the tournament, before bowling out the Warriors for 168 in 14 overs.

Asked to bat first, the Knights lost Pranav Suryadevara for four in the opening over after he was dismissed by Md. Abdul Malik. The early setback, however, had little impact as Gaurav Reddy and Nitish Reddy launched a counterattack.

The pair added 75 runs in the next five overs to help the Knights reach 83 for one in the powerplay. Gaurav reached his half-century in just 19 deliveries, while Nitish completed his fifty in 27 balls as the duo dominated the Warriors’ bowling attack.

Their second-wicket partnership yielded 143 runs from only 65 deliveries before Mudassar Hussain dismissed Gaurav for a blistering 81 off 33 balls in the 12th over.

Nitish continued the aggressive approach alongside Rahul Buddhi, who scored 31 off 18 balls. The pair added 44 runs from 21 deliveries before both batters departed in successive overs late in the innings.

The Knights’ lower order ensured the momentum continued. Arfaz Ahmed struck 33 off 14 deliveries, while Divesh Singh remained unbeaten on 18 from seven balls. Their unbeaten stand of 49 runs from only 18 balls helped the Knights finish on 259 for five.

Warangal Warriors began their chase aggressively. Aman Rao survived an early chance before producing a rapid 46 off 15 balls, with every run coming through boundaries.

Nishanth Saranu provided the first breakthrough by dismissing Harshit Choudhary for 10 and Rishiket Sisodia for a first-ball duck off successive deliveries.

Murugan Abhishek then kept the Warriors in the contest with an attacking 44 from 19 balls. Bhavesh Seth added 22 from 10 deliveries and Mani Kiran chipped in with 16 from 10 balls, but the required run rate continued to rise.

The Knights maintained control by taking wickets at regular intervals. Nishanth returned to remove Abhishek before Varun Goud struck twice in the 13th over, dismissing Shaunak Kulkarni for four and Md Asif Mansoori for five to leave the Warriors struggling at 158 for eight.

Aniketh Reddy wrapped up the innings by dismissing Mudassar Hussain for five and Pallepati Kranthi for five in the final over as the Warriors were bowled out for 168.

The victory was built on the Knights’ dominant batting display led by Gaurav and Nitish before a disciplined bowling effort completed an emphatic all-round performance.
