Filmmaker Karan Johar will return as host of The Traitors Season 2, which is set to premiere on Prime Video on August 13, 2026.
The Indian adaptation of the BAFTA and Emmy Award-winning reality format is being produced by Dharmatic Entertainment in collaboration with All3Media International, the independent distributor of the original format.
The second season will feature 21 celebrity contestants, who will compete for the grand prize and the title. Their identities have not yet been announced.
According to Prime Video India, the new season will build on the psychological gameplay and strategy that drew viewers to the show’s debut season.
Nikhil Madhok, Director and Head of Originals, Prime Video India, said: “The Traitors has become one of Prime Video India’s most defining reality franchises, transforming the genre with its unique blend of intelligent gameplay, psychological strategy, and riveting entertainment.”
He added: “Audiences across the country were hooked by its emotionally charged mind games and raw, unfiltered drama. With season two, the stakes are higher, the gameplay is sharper, the drama is more intense, and the new line-up of players will keep audiences on the edge of their seats at every turn.”
Madhok also welcomed Johar’s return as host, saying viewers could expect “another extraordinary season.”
Sabrina Duguet, Executive Vice President, APAC, All3Media International, said the Indian adaptation had connected strongly with audiences in its first season.
“The Indian adaptation of The Traitors struck a powerful chord with viewers in its very first season, and we couldn’t be more delighted to see it return for another thrilling chapter. The passion, engagement, and sheer obsession from fans have been extraordinary, and we’re excited to build on that momentum with season two,” she said.

The Dharmatic Entertainment team said the first season demonstrated Indian audiences’ appetite for strategic reality television.

New episodes of The Traitors Season 2 will stream every Thursday following its August 13 premiere.
