
Retired judge of the Bombay High Court, Sandeep K. Shinde, was sworn in as the Lokayukta of Goa at a ceremony held at Raj Bhavan in Dona Paula on Wednesday.
Governor P.S. Sreedharan Pillai administered the oath of office to Justice Shinde during the official function.
Chief Secretary Dr. V. Candavelou, IAS, read out the government order announcing his appointment.
The ceremony was attended by Chief Minister Pramod Sawant and Union Minister of State for New and Renewable Energy Shripad Naik. Ministers Ramkrishna Dhavalikar and Subhash Phal Dessai were also present.
Leader of Opposition Yuri Alemao and MLA Krishna Salkar attended the event.
Judges of the High Court of Bombay at Goa — Justice Valmiki S.A. Menezes, Justice Dr. Neela Gokhale, and Justice Amit Jamsandekar — were present at the ceremony.
Also in attendance were Director General of Police Alok Kumar, IPS; GSIC Commissioner Aravind Nair; Secretary to the Governor Arjun Mohan, IAS; Secretary to the Chief Minister A. Ashvin Chandru, IAS; Secretary, Lokayukta, Melvyn Vaz; Secretary (Vigilance); and other senior government officials.
