The Technology Development Board (TDB) under the Department of Science and Technology has extended financial assistance to Bengaluru-based Wellnesys Technologies Private Limited to support the commercialisation of its YogiFi Smart Yoga Mat.
The project, titled “YogiFi Smart Sensor Fabric Mat Commercialization with Autonomous and Self-Reliant Systems,” aims to scale production of the AI-enabled yoga mat and strengthen domestic manufacturing capabilities.
The YogiFi Smart Yoga Mat combines sensor technology and artificial intelligence to provide real-time posture feedback, guided yoga sessions and performance analytics through a connected mobile application. The product is designed to integrate digital technology with the practice of yoga, positioning it as a preventive wellness solution.
India has seen increasing growth in digital health and wellness technologies as awareness of preventive healthcare rises and yoga gains global popularity. Innovations such as YogiFi are part of a wider trend of startups developing technology-driven products based on traditional practices.
Speaking during the agreement signing, TDB Secretary Rajesh Kumar Pathak said, “TDB remains committed to empowering Indian startups that are developing globally relevant technologies. These innovations such as YogiFi demonstrate how India’s ancient tradition of yoga can be strengthened through modern technologies, creating scalable digital wellness solutions that promote preventive healthcare while carrying India’s timeless knowledge systems to a global audience.”
Promoters of Wellnesys Technologies said the financial support would help expand production and accelerate global outreach for the YogiFi Smart Yoga Mat.
