Anupam Misra has assumed charge as chairman and managing director of Hindustan Copper Limited, the state-owned copper producer.
Misra succeeds to the top role after serving as director (marketing) at Fertilisers and Chemicals Travancore Limited (FACT) from July 2020 to June 2026. He also held additional charge as chairman and managing director of FACT.
He has more than 33 years of experience in marketing, international trade and business development, with work across minerals, metals, chemicals, engineering goods and project business.
Misra holds a BTech (Hons) in civil engineering from IIT Kharagpur and a postgraduate diploma in management from IIM Lucknow. He has also completed executive programmes at IIM Ahmedabad and IIM Calcutta.
After taking charge, Misra met Hindustan Copper’s functional directors to review operational and strategic priorities, the company said.
He also met department heads at the corporate office and unit heads who joined virtually. The discussions covered operational matters, ongoing projects and the company’s growth roadmap.
Hindustan Copper is India’s state-owned copper mining company and plays a role in the country’s supply of the metal, which is used across power, construction, transport and manufacturing sectors.
