The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Monday criticised the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) over its recently released manifesto, alleging that it repeats long-pending issues in Ponda without addressing them during its 14 years in power.

AAP Goa State President Valmiki Naik, along with party leaders Sandesh Teleikar-Dessai, Mamata Maben, and Advocate Surel Tilve, said the manifesto highlights problems such as the ID Hospital, contaminated water in Panditwada, drainage and sewerage issues, and poor road conditions, which they claimed remain unresolved.

Naik said the inclusion of these issues in the manifesto reflects a failure to deliver on basic governance. He alleged that despite elections approaching, there has been little visible progress on the ground in Ponda.

The AAP also alleged political coordination between the BJP, Congress, and Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party (MGP). Party leaders pointed to instances including the association of Congress campaign in-charge John Pereira’s family with BJP and support expressed by an MGP councillor for a Congress candidate.

Teleikar-Dessai said the manifesto repeats assurances that were not fulfilled in the past, and alleged that voters are being misled. He also claimed that interactions between leaders of different parties indicate attempts to influence the electoral outcome.

Advocate Surel Tilve questioned the credibility of the BJP’s commitments, stating that key civic issues such as water quality, infrastructure, and market conditions in Ponda have persisted for years. He referred to complaints of contaminated water in Panditwada and the condition of roads and public spaces.

AAP leaders said voters should assess the track record of governance and consider alternatives. The party stated that it aims to present itself as an option focused on governance and accountability.
