AAP’s Goa unit organised a felicitation ceremony in Panaji to mark the discharge of party national convenor Arvind Kejriwal in the alleged liquor policy case. The event saw participation from party leaders, volunteers and supporters across the state.
The ceremony also honoured AAP’s first corporator Jack Sukhija following his win in the Corporation of the City of Panaji elections, and Antonio Leao Fernandes for securing a seat in the Zilla Panchayat polls.
Addressing the gathering, Kejriwal thanked party workers and supporters, describing the case as an “agnipariksha” for the party. He stated that despite allegations of corruption, no evidence had been found to proceed with a trial, and noted that several AAP leaders, including Manish Sisodia, had spent months in jail.
Kejriwal alleged that the case was part of a larger political conspiracy aimed at weakening AAP’s growth. He said the party’s governance model in Delhi and Punjab, particularly in education, healthcare and public services, had drawn attention and opposition.
Referring to Goa, Kejriwal highlighted civic concerns in Ponda, pointing to issues such as garbage accumulation, sewage problems in areas like Curti, overflowing gutters and infrastructure gaps. He criticised the state government for failing to address basic issues affecting residents.

AAP Goa in-charge Atishi said the outcome had reinforced public confidence in the party’s leadership, adding that allegations linking Goa elections to the case were unfounded. She also raised concerns about alleged corruption among political opponents.
State president Valmiki Naik described the development as a win for “honest politics,” while MLA Cruz Silva said the outcome reaffirmed that truth would prevail. MLA Venzy Viegas said the party would continue to focus on governance issues such as healthcare, education and infrastructure in Goa.
The party said the development would strengthen its efforts to expand its presence in Goa and position itself as an alternative in future elections.
