FC Goa and East Bengal played out a 0–0 draw in Match 22 of the Indian Super League 2025–26 season at the Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan in Kolkata on Thursday.
The result leaves FC Goa provisionally third in the standings with eight points from four matches, while East Bengal sit fourth with seven points from the same number of games. Miguel Ferreira was named Player of the Match.
East Bengal made two changes to their starting lineup, handing season debuts to Mohamad Rakip and Naorem Mahesh Singh. FC Goa fielded an unchanged side.
The visitors created the first opening when Ishan Pandita chased a lobbed pass from Dejan Dražić, but a recovery tackle from Anwar Ali prevented the striker from getting a shot away.
East Bengal gradually gained control in midfield and produced the first clear opportunity in the 15th minute. Naorem Mahesh Singh threaded a pass to Bipin Singh on the left flank, who delivered a cross for Youssef Ezzejjari. Unmarked inside the box, the forward sent his effort over the crossbar.
FC Goa responded with a sharp attacking move involving Ayush Dev Chhetri and Boris Singh that opened up the defence, but goalkeeper Prabhsukhan Singh Gill denied Brison Fernandes with a save. Shortly after, Boris Singh struck the post with a right-footed effort during Goa’s best spell of the first half.
East Bengal also came close when Mohamad Rashid unleashed a long-range attempt that slipped through the goalkeeper’s hands before hitting the crossbar.

The second half produced fewer clear chances as both teams tightened their defensive shape. Substitutions were introduced by both coaches, but neither side managed to break the deadlock.
FC Goa’s closest opportunity came when substitute Abdul Rabeeh set up Raynier Fernandes at the edge of the box, but the midfielder’s shot sailed over the crossbar.
East Bengal pushed forward during stoppage time in search of a late winner, but FC Goa’s defence held firm to secure a point away from home.
