Victoria Jones, the daughter of Hollywood actor Tommy Lee Jones, was found dead at a hotel in San Francisco on New Year’s Day, officials have confirmed. She was 34.
According to authorities, police were called to a hotel on Mason Street at around 3.15 am on Thursday following a report of a deceased person. Officers arriving at the scene met with medical personnel, who declared an adult woman dead at the location.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner confirmed on Friday that the deceased had been identified as Victoria Jones and said her legal next of kin had been notified. Officials have not released further details regarding the circumstances surrounding her death.
In a brief statement issued through representatives, the family said they appreciated the condolences and requested privacy during the difficult period.
Victoria Jones was the daughter of Tommy Lee Jones and his second wife, Kimberlea Cloughley. She had appeared in a small number of films as a child, including a role in Men in Black II, which starred her father.
Authorities have not officially confirmed the cause of death. However, dispatch audio related to the incident classified the call as a “code 3 for overdose, colour change,” a term that typically refers to cyanosis, or reduced oxygen levels in the blood, often associated with heart or lung distress. Investigators have not confirmed whether this was the cause in this case.
An investigation into the death is ongoing.
