“Agyaat Katha,” a drama presented by Abhivyakte, Panaji, will be staged under the Natyanand programme at Ravindra Bhavan Margao on Friday, March 6, 2026, at 6:30 p.m.
Natyanand is organised on the first Friday of every month to provide a platform for emerging artistes and encourage them to develop their craft.
The play is directed by Dr Saish Deshpande, who also handles the set design and music. The script has been written by Antara Bhide.
Rooted in Goa’s traditional Katha Gaayan storytelling form, the production blends elements of folk tales, mythology and local history. The narrative structure draws from the collective style of Goan bardic performance, often accompanied by a chorus, while incorporating identifiable conventions of Indian theatre and dance.
“Agyaat Katha” reimagines an episode from the Lok-Mahabharat, focusing on Arjuna’s internal conflict during his transformation into Brihannala. The drama examines themes of identity, masculinity and self-acceptance, while questioning rigid ideals of heroism. Nature is portrayed as a guiding and inclusive force within the narrative.
Ravindra Bhavan Margao has invited art lovers to attend the performance in large numbers.
