Goemkaranchi Giresthai, in collaboration with the Goa State Rural Livelihood Mission (GSRLM) and the Directorate of Rural Development Goa, will organise the Margao Purument Fest 2026 at Ravindra Bhavan, Margao, from May 16 to May 17.
The festival will remain open to the public from 11 am to 8 pm and is expected to feature more than 50 stalls representing villages and constituencies from across South Goa.
Organisers stated that the festival aims to promote authentic Goan products and traditional goods while creating opportunities for local artisans, women’s self-help groups, and traditional producers. The event will also focus on preserving Goa’s cultural and culinary heritage and encouraging organic, homemade, and seasonal produce.

Dedicated food court stalls will serve authentic Goan cuisine along with non-alcoholic beverages. Organisers said only traditional Goan food items will be permitted at the food stalls during the festival.
The two-day event will also feature on-the-spot competitions for women and children, with spot prizes to be awarded. Stalls participating in the festival will be judged on categories including display, décor, cleanliness and hygiene, visitor engagement, and knowledge and explanation of produce.
