Cumbarjua MLA and Chairman of the Goa Rehabilitation Board Rajesh Faldessai on Sunday said that young people are being drawn to the achievements of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and expressed confidence that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) would win 30 seats in the 2027 Goa Assembly elections.
Faldessai was speaking at the induction ceremony of the BJP Cumbarjua Mandal’s Mahila Morcha and Yuva Morcha committees.
Among those present were Rajya Sabha MP Sadanand Shet Tanavade, BJP Cumbarjua Mandal President Yogesh Pilgaonkar, constituency in-charge Gorakh Mandrekar, BJP Yuva Morcha North Goa President Dayesh Vengurlekar, former Mahila Morcha President Aarti Bandodkar, and several elected representatives from the constituency, including village sarpanches and panchayat members.
Congratulating the newly formed committees, Tanavade said the Yuva Morcha and Mahila Morcha play a significant role within the party structure.

“The main two teams of all the 7 wings of the BJP are the Yuva and Mahila morchas. The teams will have to work reach every booth of the constituency.
“I always consider the position of the booth level worker as the most important. I have risen from the booth level incharge to many positions within the party, including state party president and even MLA and MP. And only a party like the BJP can do this. I had no political background. I worked sincerely with full responsibility with no self-interest. I worked in the interest of the party,” he said.
Tanavade also spoke about the BJP-led government’s development vision and India’s economic growth trajectory.
“We have to work towards the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi of ‘Viksit Bharat 2047’. India now currently ranks as the world’s fourth-largest economy. By 2028 we will be at the third position to overtake Germany. And by 2037, we will overtake China to occupy the second position. And by 2047 we will definitely be number one to overtake America,” he added.
Faldessai said the newly formed committees would play an important role in strengthening the party organisation in the constituency.
“In a short time, we formed the Yuva and Mahila Morcha committees for the Cumbarjua mandal. I congratulate these committees. Going forward, there is a lot of work to be done; their journey starts now. These committees will connect with every home. Any person can reach any post due to their work. We have four women sarpanches in our constituency, which is an achievement,” Faldessai said.
He praised the BJP governments at the Centre and in Goa, saying welfare schemes had reached ordinary citizens.
“Our double-engine government, with our Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant along with our Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is making a lot of progress. The youth as well as the elderly are chanting Modi’s name. They have connected with him and they are looking at the work done by Modi and the double-engine sarkar. The Modi sarkar has ensured schemes have reached the common man. I thank the party, which is strong,” he said.

Faldessai also referred to international developments and India’s economic position.
“Despite the Iran war, Modi has ensured nothing is in short supply in our state. We have no fear of shortages of items like fuel and gas cylinders. This is called leadership. He is famous the world over. Our economy since 2014 has improved tremendously. Our country has taken giant leaps and this is being appreciated, which is why the youth are attracted to it. Farmers, education, and other sectors have seen progress,” he said.
Looking ahead to the next Assembly elections, Faldessai said the BJP remained the only party capable of delivering development and welfare measures.
“BJP is the only party which can deliver. We will ensure that people get jobs. Schemes are there for women entrepreneurs too. In 2027, we will have 30 MLAs. We must tell each and every person to vote for BJP,” he added.
