
A brilliant unbeaten century by captain Tanisha Singh guided Delhi to a comfortable seven-wicket win over Goa in the Women’s Under-23 Elite One-Day Trophy match played at the Ayush Cricket Academy Ground 1 in Dehradun on Wednesday.
Chasing a target of 199, Delhi reached 201 for 3 in 38.3 overs to seal victory.
Earlier, Goa opted to bat first and posted 198 for 7 in their allotted 50 overs. Harshita Yadav top-scored with 47 runs off 45 balls, hitting 10 boundaries. Captain Tanaya Naik added 44 runs from 93 deliveries, while wicketkeeper Tanisha Gaikwad contributed 31 runs from 48 balls.
Swarali Kasar chipped in with 25 runs, while Palak Arondekar remained unbeaten on 29 to help Goa reach a competitive total.
For Delhi, Madhu was the most successful bowler with figures of 3 for 32 in 10 overs. Parunika Sisodia picked up two wickets, while Bharti Rawal and Tanisha Singh claimed one wicket each.
Delhi had an early setback in the chase when Mansi Sharma was dismissed for four runs. However, captain Tanisha Singh and Vanshika Lila steadied the innings with a match-winning partnership.
Tanisha Singh played a superb unbeaten knock of 100 runs off 89 balls, striking 13 fours. Vanshika Lila supported her well with 53 runs from 53 balls as the pair added 106 runs for the third wicket.
Monica remained unbeaten on 10 as Delhi comfortably crossed the target.
For Goa, Metali Gawandar took two wickets while Pooja Kalel claimed one.
With this result, Goa finished fifth among six teams in the group, registering one win and four losses in five matches.
