‘Ek Zunvo’, written, directed and presented by Marcos Gonsalves, won first place at the 13th Children’s Tiatr Competition organised by the Tiatr Academy of Goa in collaboration with Ravindra Bhavan Vasco.

The competition was held from January 20 to February 9, 2026, at Ravindra Bhavan, Vasco, with eight children’s tiatr troupes participating.

‘Guneanvachi Saulli’, written by Austin Socorro Rodrigues, directed by Alisha Marie Menezes and presented by The Rosary High School, Cujira Bambolim, secured second place. ‘Mono Avaz’, written, directed and presented by Sharon Mazarello, finished third.

Second Prize: Tiatr – Guneanvachi Saulli (Producer: The Rosary High School, Cujira Bambolim)
Third Prize: Tiatr – Mono Avaz (Producer: Sharon Mazarello)

Awards were also presented across comedy kantar, duet, duo, trio, quartet/quintet and choral song categories.

Script and Technical Awards

Best Script:
First – Austin Socorro Rodrigues (Guneanvachi Saulli)
Second – Marcos Gonsalves (Ek Zunvo)

Best Lyrics:
First – Eusebio Colaso (Poryavoronn – Ek Zunvo)
Second – Neves Oliveira (Goa – Avoi Morom Mauxi Urom)

Ek Zunvo also won awards for stage setting (Romeo Colaco), live band music (Senon De Souza), background music (Ushank Parab), makeup (Eknath Naik) and costumes (Sandra Gonsalves).

Best Light Effects was awarded to Vaibhav Naik for Guneanvachi Saulli.

The judges for the competition were Leslie Pereira, Derrick B. D’Mello and Joaquim Dias.
