
Goa Veterans Cricket Team lost a closely contested match against Maharashtra Veterans in the All India West Zone Veterans T20 Cricket Tournament being played in Nanded.
Batting first, Goa Veterans posted a competitive total of 189 for 4 in their allotted 20 overs. The innings was anchored by Sahil Dhuri, who struck a superb 103 off 61 balls.
Dhuri received support from Damodar Redkar, who scored 30 off 32 balls, while Muktar Kadri contributed 23 from 17 deliveries. Rajendra Dabholkar provided late acceleration with a quick 24 off just 6 balls to lift Goa to a strong total.
For Maharashtra Veterans, Mohan Badure was the most effective bowler, finishing with figures of 2 for 26, while Shaikh Zahed picked up 2 for 28.
In reply, Maharashtra got off to a solid start with a 97-run opening partnership. Abhijit Kadam led the chase with 71 runs from 45 balls, while Kalid Zaman added 32 off 33 deliveries.
Later, Asif Khan played a decisive knock of 54 from just 21 balls to guide Maharashtra to victory.
Maharashtra Veterans successfully chased the target in the 20th over, losing four wickets, and secured a place in the tournament final.
For Goa Veterans, Prasad Patil, Basapa Madar, Rajendra Dabholkar and Sahil Dhuri claimed one wicket each. Dhuri was declared Fighter of the Match for his century.
The tournament final will now be played between Maharashtra Veterans Cricket Team and Vidarbha Veterans Cricket Team.
