Goa suffered a crushing 243-run defeat against Kerala in the Colonel C.K. Nayudu Trophy Elite four-day cricket match at the St. Xavier’s KCA Cricket Academy Ground, Thiruvananthapuram.

Chasing a challenging target of 364 runs for victory, Goa were bowled out for 120 in 47.3 overs in their second innings. Shantanu Nevagi top-scored with 25, while Yash Kasvankar added 22. The remaining batters failed to withstand Kerala’s disciplined bowling attack.

Kailas Nair led Kerala’s charge with an impressive spell of 5 for 21, dismantling Goa’s middle and lower order. He received support from J.S. Anuraj (2 for 29), Pavan Raj (1 for 23) and Shoun Roger (1 for 24), as wickets fell at regular intervals on the final day.

Goa had resumed the fourth morning at 63 for 3 in 27 overs, still requiring 301 runs for victory. However, hopes of a recovery were short-lived as the innings folded quickly under sustained pressure.

Earlier, Kerala had posted 255 in their first innings. Goa replied with 171, conceding an 84-run lead. Kerala then strengthened their position with 279 in the second innings, setting Goa a target in excess of 360 runs.
