Ahead of the upcoming assembly elections, the Assam government on Monday carried out a major reshuffle in the state police administration, transferring and posting 17 IPS and APS officers.
According to an official order issued by the Home (A) Department, Dr Robin Kumar, IPS (RR-2013), Director of the Directorate of Forensic Science in Kahilipara, Guwahati, has been transferred and posted as Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Darrang. He succeeds Hemanta Kumar Das, APS, who has been reassigned.
Mohan Lal Meena, IPS (RR-2016), SSP Bongaigaon, has been appointed Director, Directorate of Forensic Science, Assam, Kahilipara, Guwahati. Pankaj Yadav, IPS (RR-2017), SSP (V&AC-G), Assam, Srimantapur, Guwahati, has been transferred as SSP, Bajali.
Partha Protim Das, IPS (RR-2018), SSP Cachar, has been posted as SSP Nagaon, while Somalin Subhadarsini, IPS (RR-2019), Commandant, APTC, Dergaon, Golaghat, has been appointed Principal, Lachit Barphukan Police Academy, Dergaon, with additional charge of ERSS (112), Assam.
Hemanta Kumar Das, APS (DR-1997), SSP Darrang, has been posted as SSP (V&AC-G), Assam, Srimantapur, Guwahati. Swapnaneel Deka, SSP Nagaon, has been transferred as SSP Dhemaji.
Singha Ram Mili, SSP South Salmara, has been appointed Commandant, 1st AFPF Battalion, Basistha, Guwahati. Hitesh Ch Ray, APS (DR-1997), SSP Dhemaji, has been posted as Commandant, APTC, Dergaon.
Numal Mahatta, APS (DR-2004), DCP (West), Guwahati Police Commissionerate, has been appointed SSP Bongaigaon. Sanjib Kumar Saikia, APS (DR-2004), SSP Kamrup, has been posted as SSP Cachar.
Tabu Ram Pegu, APS (DR-2004), SSP Tamulpur, has been appointed Deputy Commissioner of Police (East), Guwahati Police Commissionerate. Mrinal Deka, APS (DR-2004), DCP (East), Guwahati, has been posted as SSP South Salmara.
Suman Chakraborty, APS (DR-2004), SSP Bajali, has been transferred as SSP Tamulpur. Balin Deuri, APS (DR-2004), Commandant, 1st AFPF Battalion, Basistha, has been posted as DCP (West), Guwahati Police Commissionerate.
Subhasish Baruah, APS (DR-2004), SSP Sivasagar, has been transferred as SSP Kamrup, while Papori Chetia, APS (DR-2010), Principal, Lachit Barphukan Police Academy, has been posted as SSP Sivasagar.
The state government has directed all officers to assume charge at their new postings on or before March 5.
