Rahul KP scores a brace as Odisha FC dominate NorthEast United. Visitors secure first win of ISL season with 4-1 result.

Odisha FC registered a convincing 4-1 victory over NorthEast United FC in their Indian Super League 2025-26 match at the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium on Friday.

Rahul KP scored twice as Odisha secured their first win of the campaign, moving up to ninth in the standings with five points, while NorthEast United FC remained seventh with six points.

Odisha took an early lead in the sixth minute after a defensive lapse. Rahim Ali pressured goalkeeper Gurmeet Singh, allowing Rahul KP to finish calmly.

NorthEast responded quickly, equalising in the 10th minute. Parthib Gogoi made a run down the left flank and set up Macarton Nickson, who finished from close range to make it 1-1.

The visitors regained the lead in the 24th minute through debutant Subham Bhattacharya. A corner from Isak Vanlalruatfela was flicked on by Rahim Ali, and Subham reacted fastest to score.

NorthEast’s task became more difficult in the 36th minute when right-back Muthu Mayakkannan was sent off following a foul on Rahul KP.

Odisha extended their lead in the second half. Rahul KP scored his second goal in the 65th minute after a quick counter-attack, finishing one-on-one with the goalkeeper.

Three minutes later, Odisha added a fourth. A cross into the box led to confusion in defence, with Bekey Oram turning the ball into his own net.

NorthEast United attempted to respond but failed to convert their chances, with efforts from Thoi Singh and Asheer Akhtar missing the target.

Odisha maintained control for the remainder of the match, sealing a comprehensive 4-1 win.
