Rajasthan Royals (RR) registered a 27-run victory over Mumbai Indians (MI) in a rain-curtailed Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 match, powered by a dominant batting display and disciplined bowling performance.

Batting first in a match reduced to 11 overs per side, RR posted 150/3, led by Yashasvi Jaiswal’s unbeaten 77 off 32 balls. His innings included 10 boundaries and four sixes. He was well supported by Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, who scored a quick 39 off 14 balls, helping RR set a challenging target.

RR openers started aggressively, taking on the MI bowlers from the outset. Jaiswal struck 22 runs in the opening over, setting the tone. Sooryavanshi continued the assault, as RR raced to 58/0 in just three overs. Despite brief resistance from MI captain Hardik Pandya, RR maintained momentum and reached 150/3 at the end of their innings.

In response, Mumbai Indians struggled to keep up with the required run rate and lost wickets at regular intervals. Early dismissals reduced MI to 22/3, putting them on the back foot. Nandre Burger, Sandeep Sharma, and Ravi Bishnoi led the bowling effort, claiming two wickets each.

Hardik Pandya and Tilak Varma attempted to stabilise the innings, but their efforts were cut short by Bishnoi. A brief partnership between Sherfane Rutherford and Naman Dhir added some resistance, but regular breakthroughs halted MI’s progress.

MI eventually finished at 123/9 in their 11 overs, falling short by 27 runs.

With this win, Rajasthan Royals continued their strong start to the season, registering their third consecutive victory and moving to the top of the points table. Mumbai Indians, meanwhile, slipped further down the standings after their second loss of the campaign.

Brief Scores:
Rajasthan Royals: 150/3 (11 overs)
Mumbai Indians: 123/9 (11 overs)
