
Finland President Alexander Stubb began a four-day state visit to India from March 4 to March 7 at the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, with talks expected to focus on strengthening bilateral cooperation and addressing regional and global issues.
The visit includes a high-level delegation of ministers, senior officials, and business leaders from Finland, reflecting efforts by both countries to expand cooperation in economic, technological, and strategic sectors.
A key engagement during the visit will be Stubb’s participation as Chief Guest and keynote speaker at the 11th Raisina Dialogue in New Delhi. The annual conference focuses on geopolitics and geoeconomics and brings together policymakers, diplomats, and experts from across the world.
During his stay in New Delhi, Stubb will hold talks with President Droupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, and Vice President C. P. Radhakrishnan. Discussions are expected to cover bilateral relations, multilateral cooperation, India-Europe ties, and regional developments in Asia.
The Finnish President will also lay a wreath at the Mahatma Gandhi Memorial and interact with young experts participating in the Raisina Young Fellows Programme.

Following engagements in the capital, Stubb will travel to Mumbai where he will meet the Governor and Chief Minister of Maharashtra. He is scheduled to address students at the University of Mumbai on the future of multilateral cooperation in a changing global order.
Stubb will also participate in the Finland–India Business Dialogue in Mumbai, which will focus on infrastructure, industry, skills development, and expanding economic relations between the two countries. The event will include interactions with Indian and Finnish business leaders.
India and Finland maintain longstanding ties built on democratic values and cooperation in technology, trade, and innovation. Finland is also considered an important partner for India within the European Union and the Nordic region.
