President Murmu also greeted citizens in India and abroad on the occasion, highlighting the festival’s message of social harmony.
“On the joyous occasion of Holi, I extend my heartfelt greetings and best wishes to all Indians living in India and abroad. Holi, widely known as the festival of colours, is celebrated across India with vibrant festivities, music and traditional rituals. The celebrations begin with Holika Dahan, where bonfires are lit to symbolise the triumph of good over evil.
Rooted in Hindu mythology, the festival commemorates the legend of Prahlad and Holika, symbolising the victory of devotion and righteousness over evil. Holi also marks the arrival of spring and the harvest season, bringing communities together in celebration.
