CD Fountainhead and Dempo Challengers registered victories in their respective matches of the GSB Unity Cup 3.0 cricket tournament organised by the Goa GSB Sports and Charitable Trust at the MCC Ground, Margao, on Saturday.
In the first match, CD Fountainhead posted an imposing 216 for 6 in 20 overs. Vikrant Prabhu struck a quickfire 51 off 20 balls, hitting four boundaries and four sixes, while Atchut Naik Dalal added 48. Pranav Biche contributed 36 and Manish Kakode chipped in with 29.
In reply, Priority Titans were bowled out for 164 in 19 overs. Anish Mahambre scored 37 and Amit Kamat remained unbeaten on 31, but the target proved beyond reach. Vikrant Prabhu starred with the ball as well, claiming five wickets for 23 runs to seal a 52-run win.
In the second encounter, Sinq Rangers put up 153 for 8 in their 20 overs. Sahil Adwalpalkar top-scored with 42, while Mehank Dharwadkar made 34 and Samrudh Bharne added 31. Shridhar Keni and Sumiran Amonkar picked up two wickets each for Dempo Challengers.
Chasing 154, Dempo Challengers reached 154 for 5 in 19.5 overs. The innings was anchored by Samar Dubhashi, who scored 52, and captain Aditya Angle, who remained unbeaten on 44. The duo steadied the chase after Dempo were reduced to 47 for 3, guiding the side to a five-wicket victory.
Vikrant Prabhu was named Player of the Match for his all-round performance, while Aditya Prabhugaonkar received the Hero of the Match award.
