The Margao Cricket Academy will organise two summer cricket coaching camps in Goa, with sessions scheduled in Margao and Porvorim from May 1.
The academy’s 34th consecutive summer camp will be held at Amrutnagar in Margao from May 1 to May 16. The morning batch will run from 7 am to 9 am at the venue located opposite Chowgule College, near Manovikas School and beside the Matruchaaya building.
The academy, which introduced cricket coaching in Margao, has conducted different training and coaching programmes continuously over the years.
© facebook.com/hemant.angleFormer Goa Ranji vice-captain Hemant Angle, an ICC Level 3 certified coach, will lead the sessions. Angle, who coached the South Zone team to victory in the Duleep Trophy in Bangalore, will focus on the basics of cricket. He will be assisted by Devashish Bagchi, Showmik Angle, Digesh Angle and Nikhil Katkar.
Registration forms for the Margao camp are available at Angleys Sports (Gomant Vidya Niketan), Sunny Sports near Vishant, KB Sports opposite the Konkan Railway office, and Damodar Hotel opposite the Multipurpose School. In addition, the academy will conduct its first cricket coaching camp in Porvorim from May 1 to May 17 at Dona Leonor (ACDIL) School. The sessions will be held from 3.30 pm to 5.30 pm and are open to boys and girls above six years of age.
The Porvorim camp will also be coached by Hemant Angle along with former Goa Ranji and UAE international player Ambey Parwatkar, an ICC Level 2 and ACB Level 2 certified coach. The training will cover both basic techniques and advanced aspects of the game.
Registration forms for the Porvorim camp are available online as well as at the school gate through the security staff. The fee is Rs 600 for boys, while girls will be allowed to participate without any fee.
