Regina Mundi HS and Our Lady of Perpetual Succour HS booked their places in the finals of the Mormugao Taluka Cluster 11 Subroto Mukherjee Football Tournament 2026-27 after winning their respective semifinal matches played on Tuesday at Rose Circle Ground in Sada.
In the Under-17 boys’ semifinal, Regina Mundi Higher Secondary School, Chicalim defeated Deepvihar Higher Secondary School, Sada 3-1 in regulation time.
Shenoy Varado starred for Regina Mundi with a brace, while Alden Almeida added the third goal to seal the victory. Kaithkeye Mallah scored Deepvihar’s lone goal.
The result sends Regina Mundi into the Under-17 final after an impressive attacking display, with Varado’s two goals proving decisive.
The Under-15 boys’ semifinal produced a much tighter contest as Deepvihar Higher Secondary School, Sada and Our Lady of Perpetual Succour Higher Secondary School, Cortalim finished level at 1-1 after full time.
Melfron Nunes opened the scoring for Deepvihar, while Josley Faleiro equalised for Our Lady of Perpetual Succour to force the match into a penalty shootout.
Our Lady of Perpetual Succour held their nerve from the spot, defeating Deepvihar 4-1 in the shootout to progress to the tournament final.
With the semifinal stage complete, Regina Mundi HS will contest the Under-17 final, while Our Lady of Perpetual Succour HS will compete for the Under-15 title in the Mormugao Taluka Cluster 11 Subroto Mukherjee Football Tournament 2026-27.
