Shree Gopalkrishna emerged champions of the Aldona Volleyball Champions League 2.0, defeating Sushant XI in the final held at Galvar Ground, Aldona, on Sunday. The three-day tournament drew strong participation and an enthusiastic crowd for the grand finale.
The competition featured eight teams from across the Aldona constituency, including OPG, Pajeshwar Boys, Sushant XI, Punola United Sports & CC, Siddhi Sports & Cultural Association, Shree Ram Yodha’s, Shree Balpurush Titans, and Shree Gopalkrishna.
In the league stage, Shree Gopalkrishna topped the standings on Day 1, followed by Shree Balpurush Titans, with both teams advancing to the playoffs. On Day 2, Punola United Sports & CC secured the top position, while Sushant XI finished second to complete the knockout lineup.
The playoffs saw closely contested matches leading up to the final, where Shree Gopalkrishna secured the title with a strong performance.

The tournament also featured a housie prize of ₹30,000, contributing to the turnout and overall atmosphere at the venue.
Addressing the gathering, Dr Tarak M Arolkar said, “It is inspiring to see such strong participation and sporting spirit among our youth. Promoting sports at the grassroots level in the Aldona constituency is extremely important, as it helps nurture local talent, encourages a healthy lifestyle, and strengthens community bonding. Congratulations to Shree Gopalkrishna for their outstanding performance.”
Organisers said the event saw active support from teams, volunteers and local residents, contributing to its successful conduct.
