Assam Rifles paid tribute to one of its oldest living veterans during a visit to Moreh in Tengnoupal district, where senior officials met 104-year-old Rifleman Shatri Dhan Thapa (Retd), a former member of 4 Assam Rifles.

The officials visited the veteran at his residence to acknowledge his service and enquire about his well-being. Thapa, a veteran of the Second World War, was described as a symbol of courage and dedication, reflecting the traditions of the force.

During the interaction, senior officials expressed appreciation on behalf of the Assam Rifles fraternity. They recognised his contributions and sacrifices in service of the nation. The visit was marked by mutual respect, with officials highlighting the continued bond between the force and its veterans.

As part of the visit, essential daily-use items were presented to Thapa. The gesture was described as part of the organisation’s commitment to supporting its personnel beyond active service.
