The Goa Postal Division marked its presence at the 56th International Film Festival of India highlighting a personalised MyStamp issued with the festival’s official logo. The design, created by noted calligrapher Achyut Palav of Navi Mumbai, was released earlier this week by Amitabh Singh, Chief Postmaster General, Maharashtra Circle. Singh also inaugurated a philatelic exhibition on Indian cinema alongside Ramesh Patil, Director of Postal Services for Goa Region, and Anurag Nikhare, Senior Superintendent of Post Offices, Goa Division.

“This is a unique occasion, so I invite you all to get this done,” an official said while demonstrating the customised stamp, adding that visitors can have their photograph printed alongside the IFPI logo.

The Department of Post noted that philately continues to draw interest, with stamps released on a wide range of themes. A philatelic exhibition on Indian cinema is currently on display at Kala Academy, along with ancillary material such as picture postcards on wildlife, heritage sites and ports. “We have a pack of postcards on each subject,” said Priyanka Cainsunkar, Office Assistant Goa Postal Division.

Officials explained that the personalised MyStamp with the IFFI logo, released on November 20, is printed only once and not reissued. They encouraged festival visitors to collect the stamp as a keepsake or send it to friends and family within India and abroad.

The Department also highlighted a special counter at Kala Academy where visitors can write postcards addressed to themselves and have them routed to Antarctica. Two post offices — Maitri and Bharati — handle this rare postal exchange. “Those postcards will be sent to Antarctica and you will receive it back, depending on scheduled expeditions.” explained, Pratap Malik, Asst Supdt of Post Offices, Goa Postal Division.

The Division urged wider publicity for both festival stalls and invited the public to participate in the upcoming district-level philatelic exhibition scheduled for November 28 and 29, 2025. The event will feature collections from prominent philatelists across India. “There will be a stall and collection will be from renowned philatelists… So, I appeal you to do wide publicity,” Mr. Malik added.
