The award-winning Goan Tiatr “Daddy’s Home”, written and directed by Fr. Milton Rodrigues, is set to be performed in the United Kingdom following over 25 shows across Goa, Ahmedabad, and Delhi.
The play, which won first place at Kala Academy’s A Group Tiatr Competition (2023–24), addresses the challenges faced by neglected elderly and abandoned children, exploring themes of belonging, family, and social responsibility.
The UK shows are being organized by Xavier Dias Production, with Greg Carvalho in charge of lighting. The production features an ensemble cast including Fr. Milton Rodrigues, Derrick Dmello, Marta Dsouza, Simon Dsilva, Maricia Fernandes, and others. Music is provided by Lenoy Gomendes.
Fr. Milton Rodrigues has previously staged Tiatr productions such as “Prison Ministry”, “Tum Naslo Tor”, and “I am Sorry”, which have focused on social themes relevant to contemporary audiences.
Organizers say the UK performances aim to bring Goan theatre to a wider audience while continuing the conversation around social issues portrayed in the play.
