A free anti-rabies vaccination initiative has been launched by Warren Alemao for residents of the Benaulim constituency through a collaboration with Classic Hospital in Margao.
The initiative aims to ensure timely medical intervention and prevent fatalities caused by rabies, a disease that is entirely preventable with prompt treatment. Organisers stated that the programme is intended to improve public health awareness and encourage residents to seek immediate care in case of animal bites or scratches.
Residents of Benaulim have been advised to visit Classic Hospital, Margao, at the earliest following any animal bite or scratch and begin vaccination without delay. Authorities emphasised that such injuries should not be ignored under any circumstances.
The vaccination service is available exclusively for citizens of the Benaulim constituency. Individuals availing of the service are required to carry their Aadhaar card for registration.
The initiative calls for community participation to help keep Benaulim safe, healthy, and free from rabies.
