Manipal Hospital Goa conducted a comprehensive fire mock drill in collaboration with Fire Station Panjim at its premises, aiming to strengthen emergency preparedness and ensure patient safety.

The exercise simulated a fire emergency scenario, during which hospital teams, security personnel and fire officials coordinated to carry out evacuation procedures, fire containment measures and rescue operations. Staff were given hands-on training to respond quickly and effectively during emergencies.

Officials from the Fire Station Panjim appreciated the hospital’s proactive approach towards fire safety and regular preparedness initiatives.

Alongside the drill, Manipal Hospital Goa also organised a Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) training session for staff and participants. The session focused on life-saving techniques, including chest compressions, rescue breathing and immediate response protocols during cardiac arrest situations.

Ved Prakash Surya addressed the gathering and highlighted the importance of public awareness in CPR and emergency response during critical situations.

Medical experts from the hospital stated that timely intervention through CPR can significantly improve survival chances in cardiac emergencies.

Hospital Director Surendra Prasad said the institution remains committed not only to delivering quality healthcare but also to promoting safety awareness and emergency preparedness. He added that such initiatives aim to extend lifesaving education beyond the hospital to the wider community.
