Oxford Cricket Club, Goa, continued their strong run in the Late Rajan Bhai Angane Memorial Under-16 Cricket Tournament with an eight-wicket win over Ved Sports Club, Gadhinglaj, on Friday at the Boarding Ground in Malvan.
Chasing 163, Oxford CC completed the target in just 14.3 overs, finishing at 165/2 to secure their second consecutive victory in the tournament.
Earlier, Ved Sports Club posted 162/7 in 40 overs. Krish Verma led the scoring with 46, while captain Hardik Birambole remained unbeaten on 31. Oxford’s bowlers kept the scoring under control, with Abhisek Lamani taking 3 for 26. Farhan Shaikh (2/21) and Harsh Nain (2/20) provided key support with the ball.
In response, Oxford’s chase was driven by Barhaan Dash, who scored 58 off 24 balls. Yash Naik (27 not out) and Aayush Gaonkar (23 not out) ensured there were no late setbacks as the side reached the target comfortably.
Barhaan Dash was named Man of the Match for his innings.
