Shri Kamleshwar High School at Deulwada, Korgao, has received a new smart classroom facility with the installation of an AI-ready smart board and upgraded teaching infrastructure under the PACT Foundation’s Happy School Project.

The school is managed by Shri Kamleshwar Shikshan Prasarak Sanstha, an educational society that has been serving students in the area since 1924. The latest upgrade is intended to provide students with access to digital learning tools and modern classroom resources.

The inauguration programme was attended by school representatives, members of the local community and officials of PACT Foundation.

Speaking on the occasion, Shri Ramchandra (Sudan) Barve welcomed the initiative and said the school had been seeking improvements in its teaching and learning facilities.

“Our village needed this upgrade in teaching and learning, and PACT Foundation has come in as a saviour to support us,” he said.

“I ask our students to make the fullest use of these new facilities, to study with sincerity, and to aim high so that one day each of you will make this village proud.”

Addressing students as chief guest, Dr Ashwin Fernandes, Founder and President of PACT Foundation, said the project was aimed at expanding educational opportunities for rural students and exposing them to technology-enabled learning.

“Korgao has already given India its freedom fighters and its artists. The time has now come for Korgao to give India its doctors, its scientists, its engineers and its innovators. These smart boards are not just screens on a wall, they are a doorway to that future. Use them well, and come back one day to make this village even prouder,” he said.

Korgao, a village with historical significance dating back to the Kadamba period, is among the older settlements in North Goa. The educational institution receiving the upgrade is more than a century old and serves students from Deulwada and surrounding areas.

According to the organisers, the smart classroom will support digital learning methods and provide students with access to interactive educational content. The project forms part of a broader programme through which PACT Foundation has been supporting educational initiatives in rural areas of Goa.

The foundation said its education-related activities in the state include the Happy School Project, scholarship programmes and youth development initiatives aimed at improving access to learning opportunities for students from rural communities.
