Meritorious SSC and HSSC students from Arossim and Cansaulim were felicitated at a programme organised jointly by Konknni Daiz Trust and Sahityik ani Sonskrutik Daiz in recognition of their academic achievements.
The event’s chief guest, John Silveira, former State Coordinator (Secondary Education), Goa Samagra Shiksha, Directorate of Education, congratulated the students on their success and encouraged them to remain committed to their educational goals.
Addressing the gathering, Silveira urged students to continue working hard and to remain focused on their future aspirations. He also called on others present to draw inspiration from the dedication and perseverance shown by the award recipients.
The programme was organised under the leadership of Fr. Myron Jeson Barreto, Chaplain of St. Lawrence Chapel, President of Dalgado Konknni Akademi and Manager of New Age Printers. Speaking at the function, Fr. Barreto commended the students for their discipline, determination and commitment to academic excellence and wished them success in their future pursuits.
The HSSC students felicitated were Beverly Adalee Cardozo, daughter of Baylon Cardozo and Alina Fernandes, and Nadia Tanya Correia, daughter of Narcisco Antonio Correia and Aida Wilma Noronha e Correia.
Among the SSC students honoured were Joshua Savio Gomes, son of Ralph Daniel Gomes and Suella Michelle Gomes, and Cleisha Fezia Gomes, daughter of Simon Gomes and Catarina Teresa Fernandes.
A special felicitation was accorded to Abigail Joanita Fernandes, daughter of Edward Fernandes and Fiona Barreto, for securing first rank in Goa in the Arts stream of the Higher Secondary School Certificate Examination.
Abigail achieved full marks in Economics, Psychology, Political Science and History, an accomplishment that drew appreciation from those present at the event. Organisers said her achievement brought recognition to her family, village and the wider community.
During the programme, organisers reiterated the commitment of Konknni Daiz Trust and Sahityik ani Sonskrutik Daiz towards promoting Goan literature, language and culture through literary and cultural activities, including competitions, seminars, conferences, workshops, drama performances and educational initiatives.
