The 12th edition of the Rotary Rain Run Marathon Goa 2026 will feature an all-women team of race pacers for only the second time in the event’s history when runners take to the streets on July 26.
The marathon will begin from Atal Stadium (SAG Athletic Stadium) in Bambolim and will include four race categories — the 21.1 km Half Marathon, 10 km Run, 5 km Fun Run and 2 km Family Run.
Announcing the event at a press conference in Panaji, Organising Committee Chairman Avinash Parmar said the decision recognises the contribution women have made to the marathon over the years.
“The Rotary Rain Run Marathon is Goa’s most diverse marathon. Every year, we witness participation from wheelchair athletes, homemakers, senior citizens, school children, professional runners, corporate professionals, and personnel from the Armed Forces and other services. Women runners have played an integral role in the growth of the event, and we felt this was an appropriate way to recognise and celebrate their contribution.”
Parmar also acknowledged the continued support extended by the Indian Army towards the event.
“We are grateful for the continued support of the Indian Army, whose professionalism and commitment have contributed significantly to the success of the Rotary Rain Run Marathon.”

Co-Chairperson Shephan Shaikh said the marathon serves a broader social purpose beyond the race itself.
“Rotary Rain Run Marathon is not merely a race; it is a movement for positive change. Through the funds raised, the event has supported significant Rotary initiatives in women’s health, education, and community development, positively impacting thousands of lives.”
Dr. Amit Patil, President of the Rotary Club of Porvorim, and Nikhil Shah, Chairman of the Prakash Cancer Aid Project, also addressed the media conference.
Online registration for the marathon is open through the event’s official website here.
