DPIIT, KRAFTON India partner to boost startup ecosystem

DPIIT partners with KRAFTON India to support startups in gaming and AI. Initiative focuses on mentorship, innovation challenges, and industry access.

The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) has signed a memorandum of understanding with KRAFTON India Pvt. Ltd. to support startups and innovators working in emerging digital sectors.

The collaboration is aimed at strengthening India’s startup ecosystem, with a focus on sectors such as digital entertainment, online gaming, esports, interactive media, and artificial intelligence-driven technologies.

Under the agreement, startups will gain access to mentorship, industry insights, and structured engagement opportunities. The initiative is expected to help startups develop scalable solutions and navigate key stages such as proof-of-concept development, market access, and integration into industry ecosystems.

Officials said the partnership would also support innovation through programmes such as the Bharat Startup Grand Challenge. This includes plans for hackathons, workshops, and masterclasses across domains like game design, animation, immersive technologies, esports management, and artificial intelligence applications.

The collaboration will further enable startups to engage with industry stakeholders and gain exposure to global practices. Selected startups may also be considered for pilot projects, depending on outcomes.

The initiative includes outreach efforts through Startup India programmes to expand participation and strengthen engagement across the startup ecosystem.

The MoU was signed by Deputy Secretary T.L.K. Singh on behalf of DPIIT and Vibhor Kukreti, Head of Government Relations at KRAFTON India, in the presence of senior officials.
