
Goa recorded a strong 7-wicket win over Madhya Pradesh in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy Elite T20 match at the Salt Lake JU Second Campus, successfully chasing 171 with nine balls to spare. Half-centuries from skipper Suyash Prabhudessai and Abhinav Tejarana were central to the victory.
Batting first after losing the toss, Madhya Pradesh posted 170/6 in 20 overs. Harpreet Singh Bhatia anchored the innings with an unbeaten 80 off 52 balls, while Aniket Verma (34) and Rajat Patidar (29) added important runs. For Goa, Arjun Tendulkar led the attack with 3/36, supported by Heramb Parab (2/27) and V. Koushik (1 wicket).
Goa’s chase began shakily with the early dismissals of Ishan Gadekar (5) and Arjun Tendulkar (16). Abhinav Tejarana and Suyash Prabhudessai rebuilt the innings with a crucial 89-run partnership for the third wicket. Abhinav struck a quickfire 55 off 33 balls, hitting 3 fours and 4 sixes. Suyash then guided the chase with a composed unbeaten 75 off 50 deliveries, featuring six fours and three sixes.
Suyash and Lalit Yadav (12*) added an unbroken 57-run stand for the fourth wicket, taking Goa to 171/3 in 18.3 overs.
With this result, Goa — placed in Group B — now have two wins and two losses from four matches, taking their tally to eight points. They face Bihar next on the 4th.
