MCC Thunder pulled off a nail-biting 2-wicket win over MCC Avengers in an MCL 11 T20 clash at the MCC Ground, Margao, moving to the top of the table with 8 points. Ved Mahambre was named Man of the Match for his all-round contribution.
MCC Avengers, batting first, put up 165/9 in 20 overs. Key knocks came from Venkatesh Nevagi (24), Amod Borkar (35) and Vedant Naik (40). Thunder’s bowling unit kept things tight, with Sudhir Shet (2/22), Sudesh Rane (2/44), Ved Mahambre (1/17), Dr Rohan Badve (1/14) and Om Fadte (1/27) chipping in with wickets.
In response, MCC Thunder chased the target in 19.5 overs, finishing at 168/8. The chase was anchored by Om Fadte (36), Roshan Naik (39) and Mahambre (38). For Avengers, Amod Borkar was the pick of the bowlers with 2/32, while Siddhant Amonkar (1/30), Nevagi (1/25) and Gopal Gawas (1/17) picked up a wicket each.
