The Indian Embassy in Qatar has issued an advisory in view of the prevailing regional situation, urging Indian nationals in the country to exercise caution and stay updated with official announcements.
In a statement shared on X, the Embassy advised citizens to take due care and follow advisories issued by both the Embassy and local authorities. It clarified that the mission in Doha continues to function as usual.
“Advisory: In view of the current regional situation, all Indian nationals in Qatar are advised to take due care, follow news and advisories as and when issued by the Embassy and local authorities. Our Embassy is continuing to function as usual. Embassy’s 24×7 helpline number is 00974-55647502 and email for addressing any query is [email protected],” the Embassy said.
The advisory comes amid heightened tensions in the region following military strikes involving Israel, the United States and Iran.
The Indian Embassy in Jordan has also issued an urgent advisory asking Indian nationals and tourists to exercise caution. Tourists have been advised to leave Jordan at the earliest before commercial flight operations are disrupted. The Embassy in Jordan has shared its emergency contact number: 00962-770 422 276.
Earlier, the Indian missions in Iran and Israel had advised Indian nationals to remain vigilant and avoid unnecessary movement.
Regional tensions escalated after Israel and the United States carried out joint military strikes on targets in Iran. Reports indicated that several sites, including military facilities, were hit, prompting security alerts across the region.
Israel declared a nationwide state of emergency, while Iran, Israel and Iraq temporarily closed their airspace, suspending flights. Diplomatic engagements, including nuclear negotiations between the United States and Iran in Oman, have also been affected.
