The Goa Police have issued a traffic advisory in view of the visit of Amit Shah, the Hon’ble Union Minister of Home Affairs and Co-operation, who will be in the state on October 4, 2025, to attend a program at the Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Stadium, Taleigao.

The minister’s road journey will impact vehicular movement along the stretch from INS Hansa – Dabolim AirportChicalim Road – NH 366 – New Zuari Bridge – NH 66 – GMCGoa University Road – Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Stadium. This entire route will remain closed to general traffic during the visit, with vehicles diverted to alternative service roads.

To ease congestion, specific parking arrangements have been earmarked for vehicles heading to the stadium from South and North Goa districts.

  • South Goa vehicles will be diverted via GMC – Goa University, with parking lots designated at:
    1. Open space next to Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Stadium (two/four wheelers)
    2. Goa University Cricket Ground (buses)
    3. Open space opposite the water tank near the stadium (two/four wheelers)
    4. IT Habitat (buses)
    5. Near the overhead water tank (VIPs/Officials)
  • North Goa vehicles will proceed via GMC underpass – Goa University Road and park at the same earmarked lots. Vehicles may also take the Panaji City route via GMC underpass.

Motorists have been urged not to park along the restricted routes and to cooperate with the traffic police to ensure smooth flow of traffic during the minister’s visit.
