
CD Fountainhead delivered an impressive all-round performance to defeat Desserts N More Avengers by 19 runs and win the GSB Unity Cup 3.0 cricket tournament organised by the Goa GSB Sports and Charitable Trust. The final was played at the MCC Ground in Margao.
After winning the toss, Desserts N More Avengers elected to field first. CD Fountainhead made a strong start and went on to post 180 for 7 in their allotted 20 overs.
Atchut Naik Dalal scored 23 runs at the top of the order, while Aditya Prabhugaonkar maintained the momentum with a quick 28 off 18 balls. In the middle order, Manish Kakode struck 37 runs from 22 deliveries with five boundaries. Vikrant Prabhu remained unbeaten on 38 off 25 balls to guide the team to a competitive total. Captain Pranav Biche added 15 runs.
For Desserts N More Avengers, Kaushal Hattangadi, Pratham Prabhugaonkar and Siddhesh Prabhu Alvencar picked up two wickets each.
Chasing 181 for victory, Desserts N More Avengers began positively. Wicketkeeper Venkatesh Verlekar scored 34 off 19 balls to provide a quick start, while Saish Hegde steadied the innings with 35 off 29 deliveries.
Pankaj Naik contributed 28 runs and captain Kaushal Hattangadi added 32 off 25 balls. However, the team lost wickets at regular intervals during the middle overs and finished at 161 for 9 in their 20 overs, falling short by 19 runs.
For CD Fountainhead, Manish Kakode picked up two wickets for 33 runs in four overs. Gaurav Borkar also claimed two wickets, while Anish Prabhudesai and Vikrant Prabhu took a wicket each.

The prize distribution ceremony was attended by PWD Minister and Margao MLA Digambar Kamat as the chief guest. Other guests present included Tanmay Kholkar, founder and owner of Manas Developers; Dr Sagar Salgaocar, Managing Director of Geno Pharmaceuticals; Akash Khaunte, Director of Alcon, the title sponsor; Sidhit Raiturkar, President of the GSB Sports and Charitable Trust; and tournament chief coordinator Venkat Biche.

Speaking on the occasion, Digambar Kamat said, “This has been a successful event, and for the past three years the GSB group has been doing a commendable job in organising it. It was a pleasure to watch the final match.”
Tanmay Kholkar said, “The tournament has been organised very well and it was wonderful to witness such a successful match. I wish all the teams the very best and encourage them to continue giving their best in the future.”
As part of its social initiatives, the Trust also extended financial support to community institutions. A cheque of ₹32,500 was presented to Aastha’s Anand Niketan, while ₹60,000 was donated to Mahalasa Narayani School in Mardol.
