Our Lady of Perpetual Succour Higher Secondary School (OLPS), Cortalim, secured the Cluster 11 title in the Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs’ Subroto Mukherjee Under-17 Girls Football Tournament after defeating Mt Litera Zee School 8-0 in the final at Rose Circle Ground, Sada.
The emphatic victory sends the Cortalim school to the state-level Subroto Mukherjee U-17 Girls Football Tournament for the 2026-27 season.
OLPS dominated the final, with Chanda and Jyoti Kumari scoring hat-tricks. Nisha Dhami and Miyafa Vaz added one goal each to complete the eight-goal win.
The tournament was organised by the Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs at the Cluster 11 level under the Mormugao Taluka division.
Following the final, the winning team was felicitated in the presence of Mangesh B. Laad, Assistant Physical Education Officer (APEO), Cluster 11; Manthan V. Adpaikar, Taluka Sports Organiser (TSO), Cluster 11; observer Yogesh Sawal Desai; Leroy Menezes, Physical Education Teacher of OLPS Higher Secondary School, Cortalim; and match officials.
With the Cluster 11 championship secured, OLPS Higher Secondary School will now represent the cluster at the state-level Subroto Mukherjee Under-17 Girls Football Tournament for the 2026-27 season.
